Hi. G Scott Works — that is, me, Apollo Moonfire — helps create a gracious and welcoming experience through tailor-made signage and graphics that make buildings and campuses easy to navigate. Through donor walls and related signage, I create the right level of magnificence and prestige for an organization to honor its benefactors. Through strategic and engaging displays, I create commanding, genuine, intelligent brand experiences.

My first design project was a supergraphic for my bedroom at age 17 and my mom was my first fabricator. (And if I ever find a photo of it, I’ll post it too you. It was pretty cool if I do say so myself!)

I have worked as a software engineer as User Experience (UX) designer in the defense industry, served as the in-house creative for a trade association in the cable telecommunications industry, and worked on a signage and graphics team for an architecture and planning firm.

My project experience includes airports, a horse racing track, a jail and justice center, medical centers, small retail, housing projects, sports venues, entertainment and cultural facilities, classroom buildings, animal shelters, residence halls, apartment buildings, and myriad projects in between.

Today, I focus on college, university, K-12, nonprofit, and animal shelter projects. Users confidently find their way, benefactors are elegantly honored, and brands are germanely expressed.

Occasionally ingenious and unorthodox, I am not only creative but commonsensical and practically fearless about problem-solving, as well as synthesizing my diverse experiences.

I often identify issues beyond signage that speak to challenges with business processes, procedures, or staff training. My engineering mind, process-oriented and sculptural thinking distinguish me from many other designers who think only in flat surfaces (or screens!).

My algorithmic thinking makes me especially adept at systems of signs and large amounts of same-but-different data. My experience and expertise result in signage and graphic solutions to business problems that can be fabricated and installed successfully without undue cost burdens. I am immensely practical.

To keep up-to-date with building, fire, and life safety codes I maintain membership with the International Code Council. I keeps current on ADA best practices, as well as general signage and graphics technologies, methods, and trends.

I enjoy chasing rabbits and squirrels with my Chief Entertainment Officer, my rescue black lab Marley Mildred Moonbeam, cooking whole food plant-based meals, making art, photographing the splendors of Mama Gais, and watching British television mysteries.
